City and Regional Planning, Illinois Institute of Technology, 1980 REGISTRATIONS NCARB (National Council of Architectural Registration Boards) Licensed Architect in the State of Illinois EXPERIENCE Farhad Niroumand-Rad is principal of Farhad Niroumand-Rad Architects. As leading manager, he directs the work of the firm through design development, production management and negotiation of contracts. Farhad Niroumand-Rad has directed the design and construction of a diverse range of projects including; residential, commercial, institutional and municipal buildings. Mr. Niroumand-Rad was Project Architect and Senior Job Captain of Solomon Cordwell Buenz Associates, Chicago. During 1989 to 1991 his responsibility included a high-rise mixed-use development, a retail mall and a preparatory school. He was in charge of space planning and programming; exit and code analysis; design development; value engineering of core and shell; analysis and coordination of engineering systems; supervision of preparation of working drawings; and review of shop drawings. Mr. Niroumand-Rad was Project Architect of Barancik, Conte and Associates, Chicago. He was responsible for design of apartment layouts and common areas; economic feasibility analysis; development of curtain wall; preparation of working drawings; and review of shop drawings of high-rise apartment towers and hotels. Mr. Niroumand-Rad at Skidmore Owings & Merrill, Chicago served on the design team for wide range of projects from high-rise and mid-rise office buildings to race track. His responsibilities included schematic and design development; design of precast concrete system for grandstand; analysis of materials and products for roof assemblies, water proofing systems; and development of curtainwall and interior atrium glazing system.
